It was only a matter of time. Eventually, those porcine purveyors of party pleasure would have to make their presence known. That time was Monday night. Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you...
Melissa tryed to keep a brave face as she prepared for what was certain to be a night of unrestrained "porking".
Betsy was determined to stay above the fray. Little did she know...
And so the rolling of the pigs began.
Matt introduced the group to his Basque cocktail of choice, the Pecan (spelling, Matt?).
Pecan in hand, Matt rolled the pigs in pursuit of the elusive 100 points, hoping for the much coveted, but to date unattained, Double Leaning Jowler.
"Nice try, Matt, but you Pigged Out. Please to be passing the pigs!"
"These Pecans are tasty! What's in 'em?"
Ryan has his eyes on the pigs, but Tracey seems to be eyeing something else.
Ahh, now it all makes sense!
A little wine, and suddenly it's "Brown Chicken, Brown Cow"!
"We laughed soo hard, we cried!"
Althought the Moon was not quite full that fateful Monday night, Matt did his level best to add what moon he had available to help fill it out.

I have uploaded the Hostetter Family Photos to Flickr. As usual, these are reduced resolution, unedit versions of the originals. I will send CD's of the original photos to the familys. If there are any images you would like me to do any editing on, please let me know, and I'll included the edited version on the CD I send you.

Sorry, folks, but work interfered with my ability to post to this blog. I'll make an effort to minimize these conflicts in the future. In addition to this post today, I should be uploading the next post (The Premiere of the Pigs) within the the next day or two.
I am still hoping to collect recipes to share with the group. Please send any recipes from this (or past) Beach Week, and I'll post them here (see link at right), and then compile them and distribute them in book/pamphlet format. Please also take a moment to click on the "Contact Information" link at right as well, and send me any updates you would like me to post.
Finally, I am going to begin uploading Group and Family photos fairly soon, so check back here or at the Flickr page to see if there are any pictures you would like in full resolution.

Monday morning greeted those of us "lucky" enough to be early risers (or who have kids who are early risers) with a beautiful sunrise. I think the images speak for themselves and do not need captions.
Andy and Mac got an early start with breakfast and some warm-up coloring to stretch thier imaginations.
Anya ponders whether she's had enough cereal while Arianna stretches, both considering that they were going to have to try to stay one step ahead of the boys all day.
Our life guard spent a good part of the day by himself, with the weather not quite cooperating. Not a bad place to have to spend a day by yourself, though.

Once again, the University of Virginia Pediatric Intern Class of 2000 (and their families) descended on the Outer Banks of North Carolina in an effort to unwind from the daily grind and to tell stories that become more fantastic with every telling. In an effort to maximize the relaxation, our cast of 18 adults brought along 20 kids. What follows is a brief photo journal of the week. All of the pictures can be found at Flickr (click badge at right), but I've picked a few choice shots. There is more information on the images on the "Photos" page (click on "Photos" at right).
A few families arrived early and decided to hang out on the beach while we waited to move into the house.
Andy and Mac discussed the merits of salad as a meal component.

I am currently working on the first post for the blog, and hope to have it up by the end of the week. In the mean time, I would love to put together all of the recipes for the meals and snacks at this and past Beach Weeks. Please email what you have to me if you have a chance.
